Today’s post, all about popsicles you can make in a few minutes with your kids, is written by our Chef Partner, Danielle McNerney. Often times in the summer, kids can get a little bit crazy! With sugar flowing through their veins, no school, and boredom creeping up here and there, summer is sure to become a little wild. But, a wild summer can be perfectly complemented by some popsicles gone wild! With wacky and unexpected flavors, these popsicles are sure to bring a smile to every kid’s (and adult’s) face. The best part? These pops are simple enough for kids to assist with! The perfect way to combat the dreaded summertime boredom kids often face.

Bananas Foster Popsicle

Bananas Foster PopsicleAn often-upscale dessert transformed into a simple sweet treat. This popsicle is SUPER creamy and is the perfect mashup of the taste of bananas foster, the texture of ice cream and the look of a popsicle.

 Ingredients

From The Spice & Tea Exchange

1 TBSP Salted Caramel Sugar

½ TSP Butterscotch Crème Sugar  

½ TSP Ground Korintje Cinnamon 

 

From the Grocer

1 Cup heavy whipping cream

2 large bananas

3 TBSP caramel

 

Instructions:

WHIP the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

BLEND the remaining ingredients together in a blender until smooth.

FOLD the blended banana mixture into the heavy cream.

POUR the mixture into popsicle molds or into plastic cups.

PLACE the popsicle mold handles into the popsicle mold. If using cups, freeze the mixture for 1 hour, then place a popsicle stick into each cup.

FREEZE the popsicles until frozen, at least 4 hours.

Chocolate-Cherry Popsicle

Chocolate Cherry Popsicle

With the taste of chocolate pudding and notes of cherry throughout, this popsicle is absolutely delicious. The creamy texture makes this popsicle resemble a fudge pop, bringing back nostalgia of the beach, boardwalk, poolside and other warm summer memories.

Ingredients

1 TSP Tropical Cocoa Spice Blend

1 TSP Dark Cocoa Sugar

¼ TSP Chocolate Sea Salt

 

From the Grocer

1-1.4 oz. Pkg. chocolate pudding

2 Cups Cold Milk (for the pudding)

½ Cup heavy cream

½ Cup cherry juice

¼ Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

 

Instructions:

PREPARE the pudding according to package directions, set aside until the pudding is set.

WHIP the heavy cream to soft peaks.

FOLD the pudding into the whipped cream.

ADD in the remaining ingredients.

POUR the mixture into popsicle molds or into plastic cups.

PLACE the popsicle mold handles into the popsicle mold. If using cups, freeze the mixture for 1 hour, then place a popsicle stick into each cup.

FREEZE the popsicles until frozen, at least 4 hours.

 

Yield: 8-10 popsicles

This popsicle tastes exactly like a big ‘ole piece of key lime pie. It’s a perfect way to eat “pie” without having to use any utensils, because the best summer foods are those that only require hands to eat!

Ingredients

 2 TBSP Key Lime Sugar

 ½ TSP Cinnamon Sugar

 1 TSP Madagascar Pure Vanilla Extract

1 Cup vanilla yogurt

2 limes, juiced

 1 TSP heavy cream

 

Instructions:

BLEND all ingredients together.

POUR the mixture into popsicle molds or into plastic cups.

PLACE the popsicle mold handles into the popsicle mold. If using cups, freeze the mixture for 1 hour, then place a popsicle stick into each cup.

Coconut-Rose PopsicleCoconut-Rose Popsicle

After one taste of this popsicle you’ll be going coconuts! Not only do the rose petals in this popsicle make it look beautiful, it’s floral note perfectly complements the sweet coconut.

Ingredients

1 TBSP Coconut Sugar

1 TSP Rose Sugar

1 TSP Coconut Flake Powder

1 ½ TBSP Dried Rose Petals

 

From the Grocer

1-13.5 oz. can coconut milk

¼ Cup shredded coconut

¼ Cup powdered sugar

 

Instructions:

BLEND together the coconut milk, shredded coconut, each of the sugars, and the coconut flake powder in a blender until smooth.

STIR in the dried rose petals.

POUR the mixture into popsicle molds or into plastic cups.

PLACE the popsicle mold handles into the popsicle mold. If using cups, freeze the mixture for 1 hour, then place a popsicle stick into each cup.

FREEZE the popsicles until frozen, at least 4 hours.
