I am of the British mindset that savoring a good cup of tea can better any situation. Whether it is green tea to stimulate my mind, ginger root to ward off a cold, or a nice herbal blend to ease myself to sleep, tea has always been a source of comfort and enjoyment. It’s no surprise, then, that when January, one of the darkest, coldest months of the year rolls around, tea becomes an irreplaceable staple of my day to day. With a host of health benefits and countless robust flavors, tea enables me to welcome winter with open arms instead of shirking from it.
National Hot Tea Month is the perfect reminder that tea is a luxury never to be taken for granted. Let us all raise a glass (of tea of course) to this month-long celebration of prosperi-tea!
Tea fuels my positivitea to get through the infamous ‘Dark Ages’ at the Academy and to power on through the rest of plebe year, one teacup at a time.
I am not a fan of winter but the one thing I love about January is that it is the perfect time to try lots of different flavors in the hot tea selections that are available. My favorites are the Chai teas but I am spending this month trying several different kinds.
Tea month is getting me through this terrible cold I have – hot tea, lemon and honey – morning and night. Green tea is my favorite!
Recipe for Perfect Winter Day: Start with your favorite long book, gradually mix in a slow-burning fire, add soup and bring to a simmer, cover and let rest under a thick blanket and serve with a bottomless cup of tea. Serves just about anyone.
I love hot tea! Fruit flavors to me are the best, the more exotic the better! I any tea though, I have to be honest. Sipping a cup spells relaxment to me!
I am very much into Earl Grey right now. Now that I know it’s Hot Tea Month, what better reason to discover a new favorite!
I’ve just recently begun trying some different types of teas. Can’t believe what I’ve been missing.
A good book and a hot cup of tea (herbal is my favorite) is the perfect prescription for relaxation! Love your tea blends!
I love hot tea any month but it is always better when it is a bit cold outside. Coming inside after a good run to a hot cup of green tea is the best. Enjoying a cup of hot tea in my pajamas right before bed is a great time, that I use to relax and read a good book. Yay for hot tea month.
Hot tea makes a stressful day melt away. I drink it every day of the year, more so during the winter, and love trying new varieties. Right now, herbal is my favorite. Your teas are so good and I want to try all of the varieties!
I love teas as well. My girlfriend got me to drink a lot more of it after we started dating. I drink it quite often, and frequently have a nice herbal right before bed to soothe my nerves and give me a restful sleep.
Because tea that smells like summer is the only thing getting me through the cold winter!
I’m an avid tea drinker – have just moved to our new house and have been unpacking teacups and teapots that have been in storage for almost a year and a half. So, now, need some great teas to steep and put them all to work! I love teas of all sorts – black, green, herbal – they are all wonderful in their own distinct ways, especially when served up with nice hot scones and shared with friends and family!
Hot tea is great for feeling better during this terrible flu season!
All 3 of my children and I are tea drinkers. My 17 yo son is the biggest tea addict! It can soothe or invigorate. Mind and body. And when it is chilly nothing beats holding that steaming mug!
Love Tea…flavored tea is great
I adore a hot cup of tea and a good book. It’s the best way to relax. One of my faves is a hot cup of Blood Orange Smoothie Tea with a bit of milk. Oh so nice!
There is nothing better than the amora of a fresh cup of hot tea.
Hot tea month is just another reason to love tea! Cold January mornings and nights call for a cup of comfort. Mid day meetings are made more tolerable with a beautiful cup of tea.
Love tea and even more so when it’s from TSTE!
The best thing about winter is Cranberry Apple Tea!!
Hot tea is such a wonderful treat. I really enjoy it at the end of a long day. Thank you for the chance to win.
My husband & I have a mug of hot tea together most evenings. What a great way to wind down from the day!
I was thrilled to find y’all in Asheville. Thete is nothing more comforing than sitting down with a hot pot of tea, and a good book during the cold wet months of winter. Yay hot tea month!
Hot Tea speaks to me in the morning when all is quiet. Again in the evening….oh so relaxing! Hot Tea is the perfect comfort drink!!
High fever, sniffles and chills found me huddled under layers of blankets desperately trying to rest. The door creaked open and in came my Mom, the blonde hair glowing around her head from the last rays of the day’s sun filtering through the window. “Wee”? she whispered my family nickname. “Honey, drink this”. I struggled up through the covers, suddenly hot and sweating with fever, barely conscious. I slowly sipped in the warm dark, sweet liquid, let it trickle down my parched throat with a murmur. One sip, two, maybe three, and I was down again. Burrowing into the blankets, my warm tummy, soothed from the tea, lulled me back to sleep, back to dreams, slowly back to health.
In all the years between then to now, I’ve never forgotten the connection my Mom forged for me linking tea, serenity and good health. Happy Hot Tea Month!
Absolutely nothing more comforting than a great cup of tea on a cold, windy, rainy day with a good book under a blanket on the couch!!
Tea in any month is always the best! But on the cooler winter days there is nothing more comforting than a hot cup of tea!
The best part about Hot Tea Month is the quiet relaxation that comes from blustery days, warm blankets and a steaming cup.
The calmness of good books and crackling fires are made perfect by a quiet mug of tea.
I have found that Hot Tea brings a type of Healing Nurture that only Mother Earth can provide, offering grounding and balance leaving all of my bodies (mental, emotional, spiritual and physical) feeling the Love they deserve and need to function as a Healthy Human. <3
We LOVE the Berry Bouquet tea! There is nothing better for a cold day than a cup of it!
I did not know January was Hot Tea Month….Everymorning it is hot tea morning for me. I love the different fruit flavored tea. I need to try the Cranberry Apple and the Green tropical. Yes for a wonderful giveaway also.
I love hot tea any time of year, but in the cold months when your hands just can’t completely warm up, there’s nothing better than drinking a cup of hot tea and holding that nice warm mug.
I drink hot tea constantly at work and in the winter months it is my life saver! I love the tea from your shop and this gift set would make my day!
I moved here from England a year and a half ago and a quality cup of hot tea is always comforting and reminds me of home.
My husband is always baffled by my need for a mug of hot tea even during the summer but its something I grew up with and my solution for everything has to be tea.
Now that its been a little colder I’ve went back to my old staple of black
teas but I think they just have that extra comfort factor when you’re feeling run down, cold or tired (served the English way of course)
You would not believe my excitement when I discovered this store in San Francisco, my husband said you’d think I’d never seen it before!
Nothing gets me going like a large cup of green tea! As people are addicted to coffee, I’m addicted to green tea! Living in cold New England, I enjoy my various green tea blends morning, afternoon, and evening.
I don’t know whether it’s the heavenly aroma, the warm cup in my hands or the soothing taste…but put them all together and they whisper, “come closer, snuggle close to health and well-being.” Hot Tea Month is what my kids would call “da Bomb”…but who needs an excuse?
I am Irish and my Husband is Scottish, need I say more? The tea kettle is always on the boil! However, this January is definitely the month of Hot Tea in my house. My 3 young (3,5,7) grandchildren and their Dad, recently came to live with me and it is my wonderful pleasure to introduce them to ritual of Hot Tea! They each have their favorite tea pot and tea choices as well as tea cup and saucer, My Oh My, they Love to set the table and show off their good manners! The 5 year old, Summer Rose, wants to have a tea party in the garden for her 6th Birthday party and we are having such fun sampling the different types of tea to serve along with all the yummies for her party in July!
My favorite time of year is when a cup of hot tea brings a welcome change (and not a sweaty brow;). If you look in my collection, you can see what I love by starting in the eastern green teas and working your way west through the mixes for milk tea and rooibos. Teas have so many benefits beyond taste. I can always find something that soothes whatever ailment. I can also find in a cup of hot tea good conversation with many people over many lands. There’s nothing like a good cupa and good conversation:)
January is a great month to have a date with the couch, blanket, an old movie and a great cup of hot tea. Especially on a cold day! That’s how I like my day off!
ilove tea.
After the Christmas rush & the fun of New Years celebrations are over, January settles into a feeling of routine. Tea is one of the things that comforts & delights me throughout this month. It’s soothing to indulge in a delicious cup of warmth. We allow ourselves to more frequently indulge in rich foods & general sloth when it’s cold outside but tea is a healthy way to savor tastes & smells & harness a desire to be active.
January – Wisconsin – black chocolate hot tea. Need I say more!!
This is my favorite month! I have given up cokes and mochas for Cranberry Apple Tart Tea. What a difference it has made!
Thank you so much! And keep those shipments coming!
A cup of hot tea any time of the day is great but especially in the evening to go along with moments of relaxation.
I love different flavored teas. I have a cup every afternoon and sometimes again in the evening. It is relaxing and I take time to think about the day. Then I continue the day activites feeling refreshed.
I love tea! The warmer weather is great of course, but then I don’t get to enjoy as much hot tea as in the cold months! I love trying different kinds of tea, my favorites are fruit teas, which I have several flavors of stocked in my office
Hot Tea month is my favorite month, because even though my work schedule is crazy, I can always relax and warm my hands with a hot tea!
I love to curl up with a cup of hot tea on a cold Michigan day. We have had plenty so far this month. My kids even enjoy a little bit of hot/warm tea with me. Nothing helps you get through a cold, winter Michigan day then a nice cup of hot tea
Hot Tea month is perfect in Michigan as Jan is usually the coldest month of the winter for us.
Hot Tea Month is also my birthday month! I celebrate by inviting friends to join me in tasting interesting blends of teas while enjoying some birthday desserts. I used to think that January was a grey month, but not when I drink some cinnamon Plum Tea!
January is definitely Hot Tea month!! It will go down to -25F this week. I could not survive without tons of tea. I tried your Coconut Oolong blend while on vacation and loved it! So, while it may be freezing outside, I have my hot tea and tropical dreams
I love, love, love hot tea! I love hot tea month at TSTE because of the many different delish custom blends the store carries… I will be heading to the Old Town store soon to stock up on some one-of-a-kind teas!
There will be a lot of hot tea months for me I’m afraid – I’ve just moved to upstate NY from Florida! The snow is beautiful but the cold air and freezing winds will be keeping me inside for Jan, Feb, March… Perfect weather for hot tea though and I love trying the different flavors. Hot tea and a great novel – what could be better?
Since Kim at the Key West store showed and I bought the amazing IngenuiTea brewer for my tea the more tea the better and hot tea month is just what I needed
Every month is hot tea month in my house. I recently gave up soft drinks and now drink hot or iced tea more frequently. A good book in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot tea is perfect for our cold Wisconsin winters.
Well, January may be the official “Hot Tea Month,” but even the summer months are hot tea months for me! I do LOVE having hot tea especially in the wintertime, though, and welcome the idea of January being Hot Tea Month as there’s nothing better at the end of a long day at work, followedby braving the chilly winter air in my travels home, than a cup (or three!) of one of my favorite hot teas! Many thanks!!
I love tea! Hot, cold, black, green, rooibos, mate , oolong , herbal etc….doesn’t matter.. love it all. I drink it all day every day!!
I’ve always liked tea, but in an attempt to cut soda out of my life I’ve really begun to love tea. A whole month dedicated to it definitely has to be better than a month dedicated to other things.
Winter is my favorite time of year and anytime I can get to San Francisco to get some great varieties of hot tea, I go. I love the feeling of being warmed from the inside out.
Our family with a family member currently on chemotherapy treatment and avoiding possible dehydration but supplying antioxins is a great sourse derived from tea. We enjoy them with honey or agave & lemon. Delicious………………
Cold weather + hot tea = happiness
Hot tea and January remind me of my Scottish grandma. She taught me how to brew and sip a proper cup of tea and January was her birthday month. My fondest memories of her surround a cup of tea and tales of Scotland.
If I didn’t have your tea I wouldn’t gotten through this month. Yes I had the flu and tea multiple times a day deffinitely helped me through. So please keep up the good work and I am spreading the word about The Spice & Tea Exchange. Love yas!!!
There is nothing better after a long day than to have a nice hot cup of tea to relax. I always look forward to a diffrent flavor thanks to the TSTE!!!!!!!
I have Breville tea brewers at home and at work so I can enjoy tea all day and night. I love the flavor and the warmth. The health benefits are just a bonus!
I love hot tea month because of the memories of my Grandmother that come with it. I remember sitting at her kitchen table as a little girl enjoying cookies, tea and a craft. I remember sipping on a cup of tea and working through my teenage struggles with her. I also remember playing solitaire, sharing tea and my young adult dreams.
It’s hot tea month every month for me. It’s the only way I drink it. I guess this just makes it an extra special month for me!
Tea for two…the perfect reason to cozy up on a chilly winter night!
During the winter months I constantly have a hot cuppa’ at hand. The aroma of the Tea and Spice Exchange’s teas are nearly as comforting as the brew. I love this place!
My first experience with Spice and Tea Exchange was in a cute store in Gatlinburg, Tn… since then, I have been a avid follower of both their tea and spices. Luckily the Spice and Tea Exchange is adding more stores nationwide some are closer to me than the Smoky Mt. area.
I brew tea everyday and my two favorites are Mystic Dragon and Green Tropical tea. January is a great month for tea!
First to answer your question: Jan is a fab month b/c two of my boys were born in Jan on the same day {6 years apart}!! Now that I know it’s hot tea month, I’ll add a new reason to love January.
I’ve loved tea for decades… but never more than once I discovered Spice & Tea’s creative blends!! Cream Earl Grey is a fave. There are several in the giveaway I’ve never tried- that’d be an automatic party!!
January is a month that chills the bones. A little warm tea with an aroma to stay in for is all one needs. Life is good.
I love a cup of hot tea on a cold Illinois day. What I love about tea is with so many varieties you can transform your mood or take yourself a million miles away depending on your choice of tea.
I love hot tea month! It is the best time of year to cosy up with a book and delicious tea from The Spice & Tea Exchange!
A cup of hot tea at college makes for a more productive study time for me. It’s perfect to come back to my room with a cup of tea after braving the cold after class.
Tea has recently become a favorite thing for my husband and I. We never really appreciated tea previously. It was in our visit to Williamsburg, VA that our love for tea had been revealed. There is such an art to making and drinking tea. Not to mention the warm and calming effect it gives. We cannot wait for our trip back to Williamsburg to visit the TSTE and buy so many more wonderful flavors. We are now making it an integral part of our every day routine and actually look forward to that nice cup of tea every afternoon. January could not be a better month for such a fabulous drink.
I just started drinking tea at Christmas time. I was at a store in Downtown Disney that carries your tea and bought two little bags of Chamomile Twist for my husband. We are now hooked on it! January will continue to be tea time !
There’s nothing better tha sitting down with a cup of tea in the evening, living in N.E. Ohio with the cold winds and dark skies and snow, one can sit back with a spot of tea and forget where they are for the moment. I especially like the fruity flavored tea’s , I can sit back and pretend I’m at the beach on a hot summer day, not in Ohio on a cold winter day.
I am an adopted daughter of the South, and I have tried to tell all my friends about why hot tea is so wonderful. Nothing warms you up on a cold day better than a cup of hot tea. I am a teacher, and when cold and allergy season is upon us, some days it is the only way I can teach. I can be coughing up a storm and almost losing my voice, but a cup of tea makes everything okay again!
I love hot tea all year long, but in winter it is especially soothing. I love all the aromas & flavors! Warming from the inside out
January and hot tea. Can’t beat the combination. I can match it though in Februrary, March, April…
I love drinking hot tea any time, but it is definitely the best when it’s so cold out and we have had some harsh ones this month!! I love coming into the store and taking a new tea home to try!

Hot tea month is EVERY month for me! However, there is nothing better than curling up in your favorite chair on a cold winter afternoon, especially when it is snowing, sipping on some great hot tea and contemplating all the many things in your life for which you are thankful! Peace and contentment at its best!!!!
The thing I love most about tea is that it is suitable for any time of the day. Wake up with a steaming glass of Earl Grey; sip on a foamy tea latte after lunch; and fall asleep with a mug of soothing chamomile. It’s always good!
Hot Tea Month is a wonderful way to celebrate this wonderful treat. Thank you so much for the chance to win.
Hot Tea Month is my favorite month because it’s freezing cold outside! I love coffee, but it’s too dehydrating. Tea is perfect—hot, flavorful, and thirst-quenching all in one!
I’m not a big fan of cold weather, so I spend most of the winter curled up under a blanket with a mug of hot tea.
I love Hot Tea Month because it’s so cold outside, and it give me the extra oomph to make more tea!
. Plus tea has amazing properties for you!
Your fruit teas get me through the darkest days of winter and leave a scent of summer in my mind.

I love tea because there are so many flavors and it is good both Summer (iced) and winter. Every month should be tea month!
As someone who is new to the whole loose leaf tea thing, Hot Tea Month is my favorite because it has been opening my eyes to new teas and flavors that I have never thought of before. The thought of loose leaf tea kinda scared me to be honest, but after I learned how to make it right, I don’t think I could go back to bags! Seriously though, hot tea is the best and a great reason to curl up and read a book
I am not a fan of the cold, yet I live in the northern part of North America. It’s really hard to get through the winter months. There’s just nothing like snuggling up in a blanket with a warm cup of tea. Not to mention, all the health and healing benefits that tea offers!
January is my birth month (24th) as well as Hot Tea Month – certainly NOT a coincidence! Here in FL, January can be 80* or below freezing, so we like our tea, hot or iced, depending on what weather we are having at the time. My absolute FAVORITE tea from TSTE is Cinnamon Plum…it is caffeine free & delicious hot OR cold! I love trying new flavors, but it sure is hard to not choose your Cinnamon Plum!
Hot Tea month is my favorite month because here in northern Idaho there is snow everywhere and nothing warms me from the inside out like a cup of hot tea. In addition to taking care of my family and working my job, I am a returning college student at the age of 43. What I love about Hot Tea month is that it is the start of my senior year (eyes on the prize!) and a cup of lovely hot tea helps keep my mind focused on my studies.
Hot tea month fits since January has been the month of fighting a bout of pneumonia & a fractured spine, my Christmas gift to myself. To relax with a nice hot cuppa tea with honey & lemon.
Mariner’s Haiku (5-7-5) for you:
‘Tis January
Hot Tea Month warms me heart
staves off cold and flu
I love Hot Tea Month because there is something warm and comforting about hot tea on a cold day, or after work, or when life gets stressful, or when I need a pick-me-up. Hot tea is like a gentle, encouraging friend who doesn’t make demands on your time, but is there to lift your spirits and open your mind to new possibilities.
I LOVE hot tea, LOVE your website and store, would LOVE to win!
I love hot tea, so every month is hot tea month for me!
When it’s cold and miserable out, a cup of hot tea helps keep me from snacking. I’m also very seasonal with my beverages – so I only drink hot tea in the cold months. I love trying new flavors!
hot tea month is my favorite lunch because I get to look forward to a nice hot cup of tea after I’m done running around enjoying the cold weather outside!
Hot Tea Month is my favorite month because tea is the most wonderful thing to wake up to on those cold January mornings!
