From The Spice & Tea Exchange®
1½ tsp Baker’s Spice Blend

¾ tsp Chocolate Sea Salt
2 tsp Cinnamon Sugar

From the Grocer
2-3 refrigerated 9″ pie crusts*

½ cup unsalted butter, plus 2 TBS melted for glazing
3 TBS flour
½ cup white sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup water
6 lg apples, peeled & sliced, mixed variety

PREHEAT oven to 425°F.
REMOVE one pie crust from its packaging and carefully press into in a round metal pie pan. OPEN another pie crust and lay flat on a cutting board or clean kitchen surface. Cut into strips approximately ¾ inch thick. Set aside.
*If you’re feeling crafty: Open one additional pie crust and lay flat. Cut into strips approximately ½ inch thick. Set aside all but the center (longest) six strips. Pull dough to extend the strips. Press three strips together at one end and braid. Repeat with second set. Set aside.
MELT ½ cup butter in saucepan. Stir in flour to form paste, whisking continuously.

ADD sugar, brown sugar, Baker’s Spice Blend, Chocolate Sea Salt, Cinnamon Sugar, and water. Whisk thoroughly.
BRING to a boil.
REDUCE and simmer for 5 mins, then remove from heat.
FILL pie crust with apples. Pour sugar mixture over the top.
LAY extra pie crust strips in one direction across the top of the pie, leaving gaps in between. Using largest strips in the center, press the edges into your bottom pie crust. Repeat opposite direction.
WRAP braids around the outside of the pie, covering your crust edges. Press firmly to secure.
BAKE for 15 mins. Turn down oven to 350°F. Bake for an additional 35-40 mins. With approximately 15 mins left, brush crust with melted butter and continue baking.
REMOVE from oven. Cool for 5 mins. Serve warm and enjoy!
