The Spice & Tea Exchange® Celebrates Grand Opening with Former Giants Linebacker Brian Kelley
Red Bank, NJ – March 26, 2013 – The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Red Bank, NJ is celebrating the Grand Opening of their new Monmouth Street location with a weekend full of store events and guest appearances.
The Spice & Tea Exchange® is Red Bank’s newest gourmet retailer; offering food lovers, professional chefs, and tea enthusiasts a gourmet shopping experience filled with unique gifts and culinary delights. Guests are encouraged to “Come In and Smell The Spices®,” roam the rustic product displays, and discover their inner chef. The store offers an abundance of products from which to choose, with more than 140 spices and herbs, over 75 exclusive hand-mixed blends, 12 naturally-flavored sugars, 24 salts from around the world, and more than 30 exotic teas. The Spice & Tea Exchange® also offers recipes, gift boxes and accessories to complement spice and tea selections.
Grand Opening Festivities begin on Friday, April 4 with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 2 p.m. Mayor Pasquale (Pat) Menna will join new owners Howard Bernstein and Lisa Prepon for the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, followed by a sampling of their most popular spices, blends, salts, sugars, and teas.
Saturday, join The Spice & Tea Exchange® at 1 p.m. for a chance to meet Brian Kelley, former New York Giants linebacker and 2010 College Hall of Fame honoree. Kelley joins The Spice & Tea Exchange® to support the charitable giving fund of high school senior hockey player Mikey Nichols. On January 4, 2014, Mikey Nichols experienced a life-altering injury during a Monroe Township hockey game; injuring his spinal cord and limiting his mobility. Throughout the day, 10% of all store proceeds will benefit the cause for Mikey Nichols. In addition, a “Nickels for Nichols” canister will remain in the store throughout the weekend to support the cause.
Sunday, April 6, The Spice & Tea Exchange® will be hosting a cooking demonstration with Chef Ricardo Prado at 1 p.m. Prado has spent much of his career in private catering and experimental cuisine. After studying at the French Culinary Institute in New York, he worked with famed chefs such as Thomas Keller and Daniel Boulud. Now, he brings his experimental expertise to the table at The Spice & Tea Exchange®.
Before and after Chef Prado’s demonstration, guests can also take part in the annual Red Bank Street Fair and Craft Show– hosted just outside the store in downtown Red Bank. The Spice & Tea Exchange® is thrilled to extend this invitation to the community, and is looking forward to the exciting weekend of events to come.
