Often times pre or post workout, at the beach, while doing yardwork, or during other strenuous or hot activities, the main thought that takes over your mind is thirst! However, then the question remains as to what your optimal choice for rehydration is. Water? Tea? Juice? Sports drinks? Soda?
Luckily, the popular Arnold Palmer® beverage, makes the choice easy for us because it combines two of our favorites; lemonade and tea! This famous combination began in 1960, when an American golfer, Arnold Palmer, began ordering his home favorite, tea and lemonade, at bars. After this drink was overhead and ordered numerous times by others, it was deemed the “Arnold Palmer” and continued to increase in popularity.
Arnold Palmer preferences included three-parts unsweetened tea to one-part lemonade, but after a while, many other spin-offs began such as the “half and half.” One of the ways we enjoy it is to pair Blueberry Black Tea with lemonade in this fruity iced tea-lemonade/half and half:

¼ cup Blueberry Black Tea
½ cup Blueberry Sugar
From the Grocer
16 oz filtered water
8 oz fresh lemon juice
16 oz sparkling water
Lemon slices (optional garnish)
HEAT filtered water to 212°F (boiling). Steep Blueberry Black Tea for 4 mins. Strain.
ADD Blueberry Sugar to the brewed tea and stir until the sugar dissolves. Allow to cool to room temperature.
ADD lemon juice and sparkling water. Mix.
SERVE in four beverage glasses or four mason jars over ice. Garnish with one large lemon slice on the rim of each glass.
